01Delete your account in the app
- Open the LiveMap app and go to Settings.
- Tap Account & Security, then Delete Account.
- Read the summary and tap Send verification code.
- Enter the 6-digit code we email to you. The app then shows the date your recovery period ends.
Your account is deactivated right away and you’re signed out on every device.
02Ask us by email
Can’t use the app? Email privacy@livemap.co from the email address on your LiveMap account, with the subject “Delete my account”. Include your username if you know it.
We may reply to confirm the request came from you before we act on it. We never ask for your password. Once it’s confirmed, we deactivate your account and the same recovery period and steps below apply.
If you no longer have access to that email address, say so in your message and we’ll explain how we can check it’s your account.
03The 30-day recovery period
For 30 days after you confirm, you can change your mind: signing back in cancels the request and restores your account. We email you reminders 7 days and 1 day before the period ends.
A subscription you pay for on livemap.co is set to end at the close of the period you’ve already paid for.
When the 30 days are up, your account becomes eligible for scheduled purge. Purges run daily in batches, so processing may finish later than that date. We email you when it has been processed.
04What’s removed
The purge anonymizes your account record: we replace your email address and clear your name, username and profile details. We keep an internal ID and our Stripe customer reference so the records we have to keep, such as payments, stay consistent. The purge also removes:
- Your posts, comments, likes, reactions and reviews
- Your chat messages, and your memberships in communities and convoys
- Your RSVPs, follows, blocks and notifications
- Your garage, preferences and interests
- Your sign-in sessions, devices and two-step verification settings
- Records of your activity in the app
We also try once to delete your profile photo and banner. We can’t yet confirm that every photo, video or chat attachment you uploaded is removed from storage, so some copies may remain there.
05What we keep
Some records stay after the purge, either because other people share them or because we need them for financial, legal, safety or fraud-prevention reasons:
- Communities, convoys and events you own stay for their members, shown as belonging to a deleted user.
- Your driving and location history: Free Drive and other recorded drives, convoy routes and recaps (including your speeds and arrival order), navigation totals, routes you created and route generator requests. Temporary pins stay until they expire.
- Referral records, including your sign-up IP address and device signal.
- Purchase, subscription, payout, ticket and Octane records. Any Octane left in your account can no longer be used.
- Creator program records, and reports you filed.
- Moderation records, without the link to you.
If you want any of these removed, email privacy@livemap.co. We’ll tell you what we can delete, and why we need to keep anything we can’t. The Privacy Policy explains how long we keep each kind of information.
06App Store and Google Play subscriptions
Deleting your account doesn’t cancel a subscription you bought through the App Store or Google Play, and you may keep being charged. Cancel it in your store settings as well:
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions (Apple’s instructions).
- Android: Google Play → your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions (Google’s instructions).
If you signed in with Apple, you can also stop using Sign in with Apple for LiveMap in your Apple ID settings.
07Coming back later
Once your account has been processed, you can sign up again with the same email address at any time. It will be a new account; nothing from the old one is restored.
